A Writer’s Work is Never Done

It has been awhile since being on here to blog. I kept telling myself I need to, but it never happened…until today!! Come this December, it would be five years since I started a manuscript for my stories. What first began as a 600 page one, has now been broken down to a series. I believe I may or may not have mentioned this in a previous blog from such a long time ago. The editing has ebbed and flowed over the years, but why rush a good thing, right? I have to say, the motivation to write has ebbed more than it has flowed, however, I have been reading A LOT!! Yes, even E.L. James’s ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ *bows head in shame*. But I had to. We authors must do research, however I do not wish to write in the BDSM genre, that I assure you. I will write about my thoughts and opinions for ‘Fifty Shades’ on another blog. For now, I am using this opportunity to grease the wheels on the train of thought to start writing again—it’s a little rusty.

As of now, my editing has come to a complete standstill. I am not fretting about it because it is what it is and things happen. I believe it’s called Life! We all get busy with other aspects of this Life business: acquire other interests, spend time with family, make new friends and connect with old ones, travel, move…you get the idea. Funny thing is, I put on my calendar, in big capital letters: WRITE! And week after week, month after month, I end up not doing what it says. That is about to change here, like right now! Even if editing is in limbo, I can still write, re-write, edit, re-edit, drink wine, drink coffee, write some more. Ah the Writer’s Life!!

Please check back with me soon!
