Welcome brave souls! I am absolutely delighted that you have chosen to embark on this amazing voyage with me. Follow the trail of blood, sweat and tears into the depths of my world, as I navigate through uncharted waters of independent novel writing.
You will experience with me all the joys, angst, happiness, trials and tribulations of creating my first book, which has been in the making for a little over a year. Witness firsthand the progression of my work and discover the genius behind it. Just a fair warning: As you take this groovy trip with me, you will get to see the inner workings of my psyche, which can get dark, deranged and sinister at times, so come along if you dare! Just remember, that some of the best music, stories and poems, come from a dark place that exists in all of us, hence that is the lifeblood for my thoughts and ideas. I haven't quite pinpointed an exact genre for my stories, because most of my forthcoming work spans across different ones, such as chic lit (literature for women), as well as science fiction and the paranormal. You'll see what I mean as we go along. This site is meant to be dynamic, so over time it will become richer and robust as I populate it with more fun and interesting content. Oh, and one more thing, in this world, I am Scarlette Rayne, so if you send me email queries, please address me as such. Hey, it's my reality and no, this is not an attempt to identify with an alter ego, rather it's my pen name for future books, which I have 10 or so different story ideas for! So, are you ready? Let us begin....

Ugh...I was so frustrated this morning....I only had a limited time to write, so I was able to at least steal a few moments and do so, but when I looked at the time and said to myself 'damn, I gotta go,' nothing makes me feel more defeated than having to close out my word doc and continue on with the day's responsibilities. Oh how I wished I had at least another hour, maybe two, in order for me to just keep writing. But I fear that this frustration will make me resent everything else in my life, so I took a deep breath and told myself I can get back to it later. And as I was driving here and there, getting some things done, the story danced around in my head, coming up with new material or ways to go about a scene.
Lucky for me, I was able to get back on my laptop later on to write some more, while making dinner. I was successful with both tasks and that made me extremely content. Content that I didn't burn anything and that I got further along with Book I. I'm really liking how it's turning out, as I read the material back to myself. It's still pretty raw and needs some work, but as I mentioned in another blog, at least I'm getting what's in my head out into my story. Soon, the story will be broken down into days meaning the succeeding chapter will be labeled, 'Day 1', 'Day 2', Day 3' so on and so forth. Has anyone seen the movie called 'Madhouse'? A comedy film that was released in 1990 (some of you were probably not born yet) It's about a couple whose home was overrun by uninvited house guests. And each day that passes, the screen would flash, 'Day 1,' Day 2' etc. Each day getting worse with all the hijinks and antics that ensues in their home. Well, this is pretty much the same, but only in terms of a)just two house guests rather than a dozen like in the movie b) my brand is more sexually charged in nature, so soon I'll be getting to the real deal of the story...what I'm born to write!...erotica that will be just too much even for me...
Also, I think I may have to rename Book I because, as I'm going through my notes and seeing how it plays out, the story doesn't span over an entire summer, rather just a little under a week. Well, I'll play around with some more titles and let you know what I come up with.
This wine is making me a little sleepy-eyed so I'm going to call it a night, but I hope to be doing another blog tomorrow, but just a heads up: I may not be able to because I'll be occupied with something that's going to take up pretty much my whole day. No one says this is easy, but it's definitely worth it!
